Dominion of Sevierville Residents Make Blankets for Kids at Smoky Mountain Children’s Home

Dominion Gives Back to the Community

Starting this month, Dominion Senior Living of Sevierville wants to give back to our community by having our residents make blankets for the kids at Smoky Mountain Children’s Home. We feel that it will give our residents a purpose, while also helping children that are less fortunate.

Our residents will be working on making the blankets at least three times a week. We hope to have made ten blankets for 10 children, by the end of this month. Smoky Mountain Children’s Home is a private, faith-based, non-profit agency which exists to provide care for children and youth who might otherwise have no one else to advocate for them. At the facility, several programs are offered to the children and their families, each geared toward helping each person’s unique needs. These programs include but are not limited to: education, residential, and therapeutic services.

The primary philosophy at Smokey Mountain Children’s Home is that every child deserves permanency within a family, and their goal is to make that an option for as many children as possible through their adoption program. Here at Dominion, we understand the importance of having a place to call home and people that will care for and support each individual’s specific needs. We believe as a community, that a little love and kindness can go a long way. We hope that these blankets bring joy to each child that receives one and that it will help remind them that they are loved.
